Yes, the economy is bad, in a recession, or whatever. But why must the consequences always fall the hardest on our most vulnerable, that is, our pets?
http://www.thestate.com/local/story/441103.htmlSad stories like this would be rarer if we as a society had more compassion. Mr. McCain, Mr. Obama, where do you stand on AFDD (Aid to Families with Dependent Dogs)? America's canines would like to know.
Tommy,
ReplyDeleteI've been following your blog with great interest. I know I didn't earn your support during the primaries, but will work hard to win your endorsement for the general election.
As I'm sure you know, I'm offering America "Change You Can Believe In," and I'm glad you've given me the opportunity to demonstrate just that. No one should be forced to give up a pet because of financial difficulties caused by the corporate greed or special interests. I've called for direct payments to truly needy dog owners to be funded by a simple tax on the rich. It's all laid out on my web site:
www.barakobama.com.
Tommy,
ReplyDeleteI love dogs. Whatever that weasel Obama says goes double for me. You can count on a McCain administration to look out for the welfare of man's best friend, my friend.
If you don't want to be disposed of, get a job. I assure you, however, that I'm for the humane dispoasal by lethan injection of all discarded pets and am willing to pay the costs of putting down cats myself.
ReplyDeleteTommy,
ReplyDeleteI think a better and more practical solution to this problem would be for petless families to start adopting dogs that have been dropped off at shelters. You can even start informing non-pet owners that there are some mighty fine dogs waiting at shelters.
Tommy, I know you're a dog so you won't understand this as well, but humans really don't like to pay taxes and I don't think its practical for you to believe that the human community would support raising taxes to help support dependent families with dogs.
